~ Using up old stash - I keep trying! ~

This photo is one which I took at the 2009 Dinnington Rugby Club Dinner Dance, we were sat with the Captain of the 2nd team and his wife. It was a fantastic evening. I made this layout using the sketch over on Sketches: Creatively yours. The other girls on the DT have created some gorgeous layouts, please hop over to support us and show us your interpretations! I love how they all look so different.

The flowers were made using a scallop punch, old book pages and distress inks. Might get round to doing a quick tutorial about it. The papers are the gorgeous Basic Grey 'Marrakech'. I have had these papers for a while and am currently trying to use up some of my stash.

~ ????... ~

... Oh right ...  It all makes sense now!

Just got back from watchin Leonardo Dicaprio's new film Inception. Well what can I say about this film ... if you like a complicated plot which needs your full attention... then you will love it!

Synopsis: In a world where technology exists to enter the human mind through dream invasion, a highly skilled thief is given a final chance at redemption which involves executing his toughest job till date, Inception

The complicated and intricate plot is well thought out and excellently executed by both actors and director. I would recommend this film and both my boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Leonardo Dicaprio plays the tortured lead role brillantly and the large supporting cast each add their own mark to the film.

In a cinema near you... but is it reality or the dream?!?

Sweet Dreams!

~ A Golden Oldie... ~

Well hello again... Crikey 3 times in a week... I'm getting better. I've just completed this layout of a photo that was taken such a long time ago now. This very dashing young man is my other half aged 15 on our first  holiday together in Bulgaria in 2003.

I am really pleased with how well the reds and pinks from Fancy Pants 'Roadshow' papers have gone with the photo. I did worry that it might look a little too girly.

Well its only a flying visit to blog land as I'm off to work, probly won't be around for a few days as I'm on nights. Sweet Dreams!

~ Twit twoo ~

This card has been hanging around my desk for a while. I had stuck the background patterned papers on and then ran out of inspiration for it. So as I'm trying to use up scraps and stash that I've had for a while I decided it was time I had to do something about it.

I stamped the owl (which was free with craft stamper) and coloured it with promarkers, mounted it on card and added a little faux stitching. Once it was stuck in place I just needed to add a sentiment so I stamped a Basic Grey Happy Birthday in black ink.

I'm still not sure about this card, but wonder if it will grow on me?!

Well, I'm off to University this morning hopefully won't need to be there all day.

~ The end of an era ...~

... well a Circle Journal any how. Ok so maybe I'm feeling a little dramatic, but today I finished the last of the Cleo crafts CJs and it is now winging it's way back to its owner. Here's a sneaky peek at my layout - don't want to give too much away.

Another 'last' is that tonight is the last Ranger meeting before the summer holidays to we are taking the girls to our local Indian Restaurant for a buffet. I hope they are in the mood for experimenting!

~ A little gem! ~

I absolutely love this stamp from Pink Gem Designs (I have already bought the winter version ready for christmas!). I have used the skecth over on their challenge blog - hop over to see. As I'm in the process of trying to use some of my stash up, the papers were from a Cleo crafts kit, the collection is American Crafts 'Letterbox'. Although there is still plenty of the kit left. I absolutley love petaloo flowers but they are another stash item that I am trying to use up (I have rather alot of flowers, oops!).

I love the girly feel to this card I think its really summery and bright - shame the weather isn't at the moment!

A quick question for all you, non-yorkshire people - do you know what Henderson's Relish is? I have come across a few local people who haven't a clue what it is but then a couple of Americans who do. Very odd!
Henderson's Relish is similar to Worcestershire Sauce but made in Sheffield.

Well I hope you all have an enjoyable evening, I'm off to my cousin's engagement BBQ/party shortly, have got both fingers and toes crossed that the weather holds!

~ A little fairy dust! ~

I will be honest I bought this stamp in the sale at Pink Gem designs because I loved it. But once it arrived I had no idea what to use it for. So when this month's theme over on the Craft Garden was 'Fairys' I new exactly what I wanted to use. I have also combined this with my DT entry for Wags 'n Whiskers Stamps.

I have coloured her in using promarkers and used a selection of patterned MME 'Bloom and Grow' papers (I don't think I have ever used so many different patterns on one card before!). The stamped leave if also MME 'B&G'.

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend, unfortuately I'm working a 14.5 hour shift tomorrow so am making the most of my crafty time today.

~ Shrek - Forever After ~

Well off we went tonight to the local cinema in the tremenous thunderstorm. I had forgotten how busy the cinemas get when its Orange Wednesdays we had to park quite a walk from the cinema.

Just back from watching the latest Shrek installment. I must admit to being a Shrek fan but I'm not sure this latest film lives up to expectations. The story is very simple, with little humour and appears to be quite short in length (93 minutes). I saw it in 3D but am not sure that this really added any effect to the story and would have been as enjoyable in 2D.

~ A Glamour card ... with abit of distress! ~

I made this card for my Godmother's 50th Birthday. She loves her designer items and films so I chose to make her a glamourous distressed looking card. I picked up the Hollywood stamp from Ally Pally for only 50p, what a bargin! The paper is Bo Bunny 'Mammarazzi'. I made a Tim Holtz style tag using a technique from his book.

Had a busy day at work yesterday and am hoping to have a few days to myself now. So much to do to get prepared for Girlguiding UK's Centenary camp at Harewood House in August.

~ I feel a whole lot of altering coming on ... ~

Well, what a bargin for good old Poundland! These wooden frames were just crying out to be bought and altered ready for my new home. I feel they may need a little of the Tim Holtz touch to them. Need to agree colour shemes first with my boyfriend.

I'm off to Brownies take over Magna today. Oh dear I feel I will be a little tired by the end of the day.

~ More savoury than sweet ~

Here are a couple of glimpses of a CJ entry I have just completed. I hope the recipient likes it. I have used American Crafts 'Letterbox' papers and thickers for the title.

Well its a glorious day here as predicted but unfortunately I have loads of errands to run this morning. Including posting this fabulous CJ to the next on the list.

Have a lovely day!

~ A place away from hustle and bustle ~

This is my favourite layout, that I have done recently. This was created using the sketch over on sketches:creatively yours. Hop over and show me your sketch inspired creations.

I made this layout using the Cleo Crafts July kit, which contained gorgeous MME 'So Sophie' papers. They match perfectly to the Indian style I wanted for these photos.

Be back soon.

~ A new CJ ~

This is my circle journal for a group over on UKScrappers. I decided to use a folder from Paperchase that I have had for a while and Bo Bunny 'Spice Kitchen' papers which I bought a while back. I'm quite pleased with myself as I am starting to use up some of my old stash.

Just got to add my 2 recipes then its ready to send off to the 1st person. I am really looking forward to starting this cycle of books. It looks like there will be some challenging books.

Happy Scrapping!

~ Its been a while...~

Well unfortunately due to some random shift patterns and the beautiful summer we seem to be having I have got very little crafting done. However, today I have begun creating July's layouts for Sketches:creatively yours and working on a cirlcle journal I am part of over on UKScrappers.

This weekend was full of fun and food!

My boyfriend and I went to see the new Twilight movie - Eclipse. I have read all the books and enjoy the films but really do not see the attraction to Robert Pattinson. There were girls walking round with t-shirts of him on. All seems a little sad to me, but then I never really was one to wear that kind of thing. All that aside  the film was still great, but as ever doesn't live up to the book.

For lunch on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend we ventured in to the world of sushi!

I'm becoming a big fan of sushi, especially in this warm weather, as its light, tasty and filling. I'm even converting my boyfriend who 'doesn't do fish'. Well hopefully I will have something crafty for you tomorrow so watch this space.

Thanks for visiting!
