~ WOYWW - 27.10.10 ~

Good morning! I have scheduled this post as unfortunately I am doing a 14.5 hour shift today so doubt I will feel like posting when I crawl in at 10pm tonight.

As you can see not much is happening on my desk - lots of bags of sweeties ready to make bags for the Brownie Christmas fayre in November.

Will endeavour to look round all the WOYWW posts when I return.

Happy Crafting!

(Stupid blogger didn't post as expected therefore I apologise for this post being a day late!)

~ A couple more well on their way! ~

What a dull and horrid morning... only just got up as I now have blackout curtains in my room which mades it seem like its still the middle of the night... oh well.

After the success of my first matchbox advent calendar I have decided to make two more (one for myself and one for friends).

To be honest I have know idea what the papers are (I suspect they may have been a papermania pack) as I have had them quite a while. So the basic structures are made I know need to complete the decorations and start adding goodies to them.

I don't expect its going to brighten up so I may lock myself in my room and finish these projects - I have so many projects on the go I desperately need to finish them (haven't even finished journal your Christmas from last year...oops!

~ Life as we know it - my review ~

Well this film has been out a couple of weeks and I can't say it was high on my list of films to see but it fitted in with today's schedule.

The Plot

Holly Berenson (Katherine Heigl) is an up-and-coming caterer and Eric Messer (Josh Duhamel) is a promising network sports director. After a disastrous first date, the only thing they have in common is their dislike for each other and their love for their goddaughter, Sophie. But when they suddenly become all Sophie has in the world, Holly and Messer are forced to put their differences aside. Juggling career ambitions and competing social calendars, they’ll have to find some common ground while living under one roof. (http://www.cinemablend.com/)

Well, the film lived up to my expectations of being an easy watching film where not much thought was required regarding the complexity of the plot. The simple ideas are well portrayed by Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel. There are moments in the film where I laughed out loud, moments when I cringed at the mishaps of the new 'parents' and shed a little tear at a couple of heart renching moments. However, I am quite sensitive and often find myself crying at the most random things.

This happy go lucky film will make you leave the cinema with a smile on your face, either thinking about your own experiences of parenthood or the stupid situations the couple manage to get themselves in to.

If this film really isn't your cup of tea then the eye candy isn't bad (With Katherine Heigl in it you may even get the other half to go with you!)

Please let me know what you think of this film.

~ A First Attempt... ~

Good evening! Well today has been quite busy, not only have I been to work I have also helped mum prepare tea and been to the cinema to see 'Life as we know it'. Pop back later for my mini review.

Over the last couple of weeks my mind has seriously been in Christmas mode. This is my first ever advent calendar made with matchboxes. I saw loads of pics of them on peoples blogs last year and thought I really must give it a go. This one is for my boyfriend and I have already started filling it. If you have any ideas for the matchboxes please leave me a comment... apart from chocolates I'm desperate.

The papers are from a kit I bought from QVC a few years ago and the stickers are some I had left from last year. I'm really pleased with how it has turned out.

~ AWOL again! ~

Happy Sunday Everyone! Hope you're all having a lovely Sunday Afternoon .

I've been rather busy over the last two weeks since my last post, unfortunately real life has got in the way.

Well as you can see I have been busy sorting out some little gift ideas for out Brownie Christmas Fayre. So far I have put together 'Dear Santa...' packs, snowman soup packs and doggie goodie bags. I just need to get them decorated now. Am planning on getting some accessorize stickers to decorate them with. I hope the girls and their families enjoy the gifts. Got a few more ideas up my sleeve so keep and eye out over the next week.

Last week I ordered some stamping up punches from Lisa... you know the ones which cover the Elizabeth Shaw mints. So I'm ready and waiting with my box of mints. Planning to put them in some little christmas favours for family and friends at Christmas Dinner.

Well I'm off to finish cooking Nigella Lawson's Asian Style Shin of Beef. Yum!

~An absent blogger!~

My most humble apologies...

... I have been missing on my little old blog for quite a while.

Well I've spent the last few days in London with my man doing a little sight seeing and shopping. We visited St Paul's Cathedral, Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Camden Lock Market and various other places.

After much persuasion my man allowed me a little shopping time on Oxford Street.

Unfortunately the weather was not its best, hence the wet looking view of Big Ben from the London Eye.

Hopefully there will be some crafty posts from me int he near future.
