~ Gogogetaway Saturday Morning Round up ~

Good Afternoon. It's been non-stop here at Gogo Getaway, Lots of fabulous layouts created so far. Here is what I've done so far today:

Class no.2

'First edition'
By Nicola Kerridge

This is an absolutely gorgeous altered book. It was a little fiddly in places but think the effect is amazing!

The indentation is made using foam board which we cut to fit inside the book once 190 pages were removed. It was then covered in those pages pulled out to ensure it flowed.

I chose to scrap my Graduation as the brief was to bring photos of something memorable. I think I might create some more of these for wedding gifts.

This layout is for the Sketch challenge using at least one piece of MME 'Miss Caroline' Collection. The photo is of my kitten Oscar on his first day in our house. I can't believe how little he was!

Class no. 3

'Paperie Patchwork'
By Janice Warren

This class used lots of stickers by 'The Girls Paperie' and faux stitching to create a patchwork quilt effect. The flower was made by sewing along a piece lace and ruching it up. The photo is of my grandad who I didn't really know as he died when I was a baby. I absolutely love this layout and still have lots of stash left.

Well off to class no 4. ...

~ Full steam ahead @ Gogogetaway ~

Hi there! As promised I'm back, although it is now the early hours of Saturday morning but I am pleased to say I have 2 layouts under my belt.

The first Class was:

'And did those feet...'
by Sam Ball

This layout really took me out of my comfort zone it's a kind of scrapping I have never really tried. We used the photo to create a similar background using fabric and texture paste. I've never used texture paint to that was an adventure. Not going to be my favourite supply I don't think.

The photo is of Fishguard Harbour in Wales and I am really pleased with the effect the background has created.

My second layout completes the Pre-crop challenge No.3 which had 8 elements that had to be used:

Photo
Ribbon/Thread
Journal strip
8 Letters
Button
ink/Paint
A date
A die cut or punch

So here is my page using Scrapagogo's April 2011 kit which contained Stella Rose collection papers which are gorgeous.

This photo was taken in 2010 when we had a Mother and Daughter Photoshoot.

Right I'm in need of my beauty sleep before tomorrows onslaught of exciting classes.

Good Night and Happy Crafting!

~ It's Gogo time! ~

Apologies for being absent this week but I have been on nights. But I'm ready and raring to go at Scrapagogo's Gogo getaway. So over the next two days expect plenty of photos containing everything Gogo.

We are doing 7 classes so I'll schedule a post for each day next week to showcase each one individually. The weekends post will cover everything else!

Must dash ... the crop room opens in 20 minutes!

~ Little Claire Stamp Club - March ~

This is Little Claire's Monthly stamp club kit - Man squares! This is a fab card, perfect for Father's Day!

The addition of 3D elements is a perfect addition to the card. I coloured them using promarker. This stamp set is so versatile, it would fit ANY themed card including those hard ones like retirement, birthdays, thank you. I'm looking forward to April's falling through my door.

~ A splash in to spring ~

Welcome to Spring! Today has been an absolutely gorgeous day here in South Yorkshire. Shame I have been at work all day. Today I am sharing another gorgeous card made from a cute Little Claire Stamp:

This stamp was shaded using promarkers. Again the papers are from my scraps bag (it is slowly going down! Yey!). The sentiment is from craftwork cards. I can't wait to send this to one of my friends for their birthday, I think she will love it!

Happy Spring Crafting!

~ Happy Mother's Day ~

Today is Mother's Day here in the UK, unfortunately I am working a 14.5 hour shift so won't be seeing my mum. But I thought I would schedule a post to show you the card I made for her.

This card was made using the February Scrapagogo kit. I love the stamp from the kit it is so cute. The patterened papers are some scraps I had left after I made the challenge layout I posted yesterday. The stamp background was made using worn lipstick and broken china distress inks sprayed with pearlescent mists.

Happy Mother's Day and I hope you get some crafting done!

~ Gogogetaway pre-weekend challenges ~

Well I've been quite busy getting organised for my second Gogogetaway this last week. This has included getting the photos for 7 classes selected and printed out as well as taking part in the pre-weekend challenges.

The first challenge was to make a name badge using their specified template. As it is their 8th Getaway the template was an octagon. Above is my name badge, using up some of my scraps of patterned paper. I think it is Kaisercraft Marrakech collection.

This is challenge no.2 which consisted of a sketch and the use of 8 photos, 8 lines of journalling and 8 embellishments. I used my February Scrapagogo kit to create the above layout. The photos are from an 8 course meal I had when away in Bristol for the weekend. Seemed like a perfect opportunity to scrap them.

I'm looking forward to their next challenge.

~ Cutesy Card ~

I'm loving the use of bunting at the moment and quite fancy making some for my house. Instead i made do with putting some on this cute Birthday card.

This image from Lily of the Valley is so cute I couldn't resist it. A very versatile stamp it can be used for all kinds of female card. The image was stamped using Memento ink and then coloured using Promarkers.

I love edge punches at the moment especially those from Martha Stewart. I punched and then inked the edges of the patterened paper to add another layer of interest.

~ A fall feeling! ~

Although Spring is clearly here with the flowering of the Daffodils I have chosen to create an Autumnal style card using a stamp from Little Claire.

I absolutely LOVE Little Claire's Room with a View stamp collection. This card is created using the four seasons set which is so versatile. I have coloured the images using promarkers.

Twisted Easel cards are one of my favourite styles at the moment. They are simple to make but are so striking when you see them on display. Again I have been trying to use up some more scraps of patterned paper.

~ Stampin' Up Class - March ~

Last Sunday I went to the Monthly Stampin' Up Class held by Monica Gale. Here is what we made:

This card is so simple but I love how the simple technique of embossing the white cardstock really makes the stamped images stand out. The pink ribbom just softens the deep mustard yellow card.

For this card we created a pearlescent background using paint and an ink pad. The image is stamped using stazon ink and then coloured using a blending pen and ink refiller. This is such a cute card.

We got abit punch happy to create this is a sweet little bag created so simply I cannot believe it. Might try making a variation of this for christmas.
I absolutely love all the cards and gifts created, only problem is I'm not sure I want to give them away!

~ Flutterbys ~

What a gorgeous day it has been! Hope you have all been making the most of it. I was out at a craft class this morning and then went out for Sunday Lunch.

I've been looking at a few sketches over on Cardabilities today and here is a simplistic card made using one of their sketches. The papers were some I had in my scraps box as I'm really trying to use some of them up. I love the effect of creating fuffled ribbon. The butterfly punch is from Martha Stewart ans is one of my favourites so I'm sure you'll see plenty of it over the next few months.

~ Barmy for boxes! ~

I was given Papermania nesting bare essential boxes by my mum and asked to decorate them and plan a little class for her and our friend.

I chose 4 co-ordinating patterned papers from my Scrapagogo kits and covered all 3 boxes.

I used strips of the paper to create ruffles around the bottom of lids (this hides any unsightly bits).

I then used doilies, ribbon, punches, buttons and paper to decorate the tops of the boxes (I will do a tutorial soon showing how to make the bow on the small box).

These are the boxes I made when mym and our friend came to decorate their boxes. I tried to go with a vintage look.

I'm really pleased with all the boxes I made and hope that those that receive presents in them like them as much as I do.

~ Getting back to it ... ~

Good evening... today I'm sharing a page I made last week about the Girlguiding UK Big gig I went to in 2008.

These photos have been sat in my box for ages... finally I have got round to scrapping them and I was so pleased to use up some of my older papers.

The last week has been rather busy and the week ahead is also looking full. On Wednesday it is my birthday so we are off to a spa for the day.
