~ Like For Ever - November Moodboard ~

Good morning from a cold and dreary UK! Its a good job Christmas is during winter otherwise I would be totally over this season! Although its a little early to have Christmas decorations up in November, mine go up the first weekend in December.

Every month Nicola compiles a Moodboard to give us inspiration with our Like For Ever Kit. This month's is right down my street. Will you just look at those pinks and blues!!! I'm squealing slightly at the thought of them.

I used mostly the 'Stargazer' kit to create this 12x12 page but added in a few bits and pieces from my stash. I used the colour scheme, florals, glitzy dress and script from the Moodboard as my inspiration.

I'm so in love with these beautiful teal blue glittery thicker words, the script font is perfect. I added quite a few gold texture paste stars to add interest to the plain background. The pink patterned paper has some pale pink flowers and I used the butterfly paper as I imagine my cat is dreaming of chasing butterflies.

I've left a lot of white space on this layout but I tried really hard not to add anything extra to it. I'm really pleased with how it looks. I've had these photos of my little boy cat asleep on our bed for a while and have been waiting for inspiration to get it scrapped. He is such a little cutie!!

~ #FRIEND ~

It has been a busy week for me and I finally got chance at the weekend to play with this months Like For Ever 'Stargazer' Kit. It contains lots of beautiful products including many from the Pink Paislee 'Moonstruck' collection.

The beautiful watercolour script patterned paper was calling out to be used as a background. As it is so pretty I didn't want to cover it up too much either. I went with a couple of groupings of paper and embellishments.

The thickers from the collection have a pretty delicate gold foil floral design on them that is difficult to photograph but stunning in real life.

The butterflies, floral and small sentiments were all cut from a piece of the moon struck patterned paper that has small squares of different patterns all over it.

(I need to apologise for the first half of the video as my layout was not in focus)

I'm hoping I manage to get in a little bit of scrapbooking after the hairdressers and before dinner out tomorrow but who knows. The weather is cold here now and I love being curled up on the sofa in front of a movie.

~ Birds of a Feather - Paige Taylor Evans teaching event ~

Wow, I had a fantastic day in Coventry on Sunday at Birds of A Feather's first event which featured a guest designer/teacher in the form of the fabulous Paige Taylor Evans!

She designed and taught 4 great classes, all featuring her Pink Paislee 'Take Me Away' collection. It was refreshing to scrap with such small photos as I'm often drawn to 6x4 prints.

This layout came together pretty quickly really. We backed the white floral cut file with different pattern papers from the collection. Trying not to have the same patterns together. This photo is from our trip to Latvia earlier in the year. We actually took a cable car and then walked to the castle in the distance.

The second class was an ingenious way to use up all the manufacturer strips from patterned papers. We cut off all the strips and then stuck them to a cardstock ampersand to create the striped effect. Lots of clusters of embellishment helps weigh out the page. I had to adapt the photo cluster a little as Paige used a 3.5 inch square photo but mine wouldn't work with the overlapping smaller frames. I picked another Latvia photo and in true British style journalled about the weather!

Class three was probably my least favourite but works really well with my photo. We hand cut the patterned paper letters using templates then distressed them and outlined in black ink to make them stand out.

Throughout the day if we had finished a class Paige encouraged us to fussy cut some flowers out of various patterned papers. I am so glad she did as I wouldn't have liked to sit down at the end of the day and cut out all these flowers! Great concept and all the layers of flowers look stunning in real life.

It was a great day and was lovely to see friends both old and new. Hey Little Magpie were on site with a fabulous shop as ever. I can't wait to see what Birds of a Feather have in store for their next events when their website is up and running.

~ Exciting News!!! ~

I'm so excited to announce a new adventure for me and my crafting!

I have been chosen to be part of the 2017 GoGo Getaway Design Team. I am part of a team of fantastic ladies who will be designing and teaching classes at next years Getaway scrapbook retreats.

I have been attending the March GoGo Getaway at Theobalds Park DeVere Hotel for the last 6 years. I absolutely love my weekend away from day to day life and I can immerse myself in pretty papers and glittery thickers.

I'm still a little shocked and it feels rather surreal that I will now be teaching at these brilliant weekends. I can't wait to get stuck in and design some amazing classes! It would be great to see some of you there.

~ Lazy Days ~

Tomorrow I'm heading down to Coventry for the first Birds of a Feather event which is a day of classes taught by the fabulous Paige Taylor Evans.

As a pre-event challenge we were asked to create a layout/card using teal/sky blue and 3 of something. I was still playing with my Like For Ever 'harmony' kit to create this 9x12 page.

I absolutely love these super cute birds from the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes 'gather' collection sticker sheet. I used 3 flowers and 3 hearts on my page and the flowers are also aqua/teal.

Over the last two days of our holiday in Uzbekistan we enjoyed spending time in this book cafe reading, drinking coffee, eating cake and watching the world go by. It was nice to have a few chilled out days at the end of a busy tour.

I will be back next week to show you what classes Paige taught us at the weekend.

~ Drive ~

Happy Tuesday, it's an exciting day in our house as we have an IKEA delivery due with new furniture which includes new desks for my craft room! Super excited!

At the weekend I finally got round to playing with my Ali Edwards 'drive' story kit. It is working fantastically for documenting the interesting road conditions and our long drives in Uzbekistan.

I love the acrylic words which come in the kits. They make such a striking title. It's quite a simple layout from me but I wanted to make the photo and story the star of the page. I think I took this photo when we stopped for a desert pee stop.

Some of the roads outside the cities in Uzbekistan were shocking. Not as bad as some of the African and South East Asian countries but when compared to the city infrastructure it wasn't great.

Unfortunately due to the changes in the dollar-pound exchange rate and the fact that we are planning a few big trips again next year I have decided to cancel my story kit & stamp subscriptions. I'm a bit gutted but to be honest they were piling up and mostly unused.

I will hopefully be back towards the end of the week with more pages to show you. I'm planning on doing a craft room tour when it is finished.

Happy Crafting!
