Winter Fun | GoGo Getaway

Today is my turn over on the GoGo Getaway Blog to showcase a technique previously taught at one of the GoGo Getaway events.

This month I have put my Silhouette Cameo machine to work so head over to see all the different techniques I managed to get on to one layout. I'm totally in love with this Bramble Fox perspextive that I used for my title.

HoHoHo | Bramble Fox & Pinkfresh Studio

This is one of the cutest photos I've ever taken of my male cat. He is so affectionate towards me but such a little scaredy cat if we ever have visitors. He tolerated this cute little Santa hat for such a long time.

I added Heidi Swapp Mist to the background using the packaging technique to break up all the white space. Adding splatters of the blue and also gold mist to create droplets of more concentrated colour to the background.

I used some white tulle that was given to me by the lovely Lisa on the GoGo Getaway DT and it works perfectly tucked under the edge of the patterned paper to add a subtle texture and depth. The stunning acrylic piece makes for a bright and striking title.

Not only was the title created with the 'HoHoHo' acrylic perspextive from Bramble Fox I also used snowflake to create a varied texture. I've developed abit of a love for sequins again over the festive period and scattered them around many of my layouts often in a similar way I would use enamel dots or even Nuvo drops.

Christmas Crafting | Crate Paper 'Falala'

Well Christmas seems like such a long time ago now. I realised whilst I was sorting through some photos of layouts that I never showed a few pieces I created. Much of my Christmas crafting was done with the Crate Paper 'Falala' collection. I had most of this collection and used it for my December Daily album.

This layout was created for the GoGo Getaway December challenge which was to use a specific colour scheme. I went a little different with this layout by not using a white background and used 2 6x12 pieces of patterned paper.

I had this layout on display in my hallway throughout December. I love seeing my recent layouts up on the wall after I've made them.

I used the cut apart from the 6x6 pad to create this Christmas cards for my parents. I had this idea floating round in my head as soon as I saw the little tags.

I've enjoyed playing along with some online challenges throughout the last couple of months. I often join in with the monthly challenges over on the Hey Little Magpie, Hip Kit Club, For the love of pretty paper and GoGo Getaway Facebook Groups and the sketches from Stick It Down and Stuck?! Sketches.

This is another challenge layout I created using the Falala collection. It followed a sketch and used a 'Grab 5' style challenge. I added watercolour to the background using the packaging technique and then added a few stamps on top.

Oh So Happy | Crate Paper Good Vibes

I've been enjoying playing with some more mixed media over the last few months and I dug out my forgotten Paper Artsy Infusions to create a background effect for this layout.

I placed a stencil over the white cardstock background and then sprinkled over the infusions in 2 different colours. Then spritzed with water and carefully removed the stencil. I dried it quickly with a heat tool as the longer its left the more walnut pieces spread and create the brown effect.

I love the final outcome of this layout. I have had the yellow Bramble Fox 'today' perspextive for a while and I don't often use yellow on my layouts but it really added to this page. The tassel frame from Crate Paper 'Good Vibes' is super cute and worked well with this photo of me and the Berlin Wall.

123...Strike a pose | Challenges

I was inspired recently by a few of the online challenges and they really sparked my mojo again. This layout using the December Hip Kit was for the Hey little magpie challenge (to use numbers on your layout) and the Stick It Down single page sketch this month. I love using Facebook and Instagram to take daft selfies if I've got a spare few minutes.

I had some new starlight metallic paints for Christmas so I used them to create and L shape in the bottom left corner as per the sketch. I used this beautiful patterned paper designed by Irit Landgraf for Hip Kit.

I managed to use some older stash also as the chipboard heart and flowers were from an older Illustrated Faith collection. Most of the other embellishments were from the Crate Paper 'Good Vibes' collection.

The weather has been really dull here in the UK for the last few weeks making it a nightmare to photograph my layouts. I can't wait for the Spring and Summer months so its at least a little brighter.

I'm eagerly awaiting all the new releases as they are slowly being drip fed out by the manufacturers. I'm hoping for a good travel themed one to get my teeth in to after our trip to Egypt and Jordan later this month.

Love is in the Air | GoGo Getaway

Hello 2018! We are back in full swing with Monthly Challenges over on the GoGo Getaway Blog.

I have had this Quote sketched by the Silhouette for ages and haven't had quite the right inspiration for it. I didn't stick exactly to the challenge but it was definitely my inspiration for this layout.

I used the Festive Pinkfresh Studio collection. It's nice to have a change in colour scheme after using the Crate Paper Falala collection throughout my December Daily album. I love the blues, pinks and red.

I used Indian Ink to write the script black words and then my new starlight metallic paints for the other words. I used some exclusive coffee cup die cuts from Hip Kit Club.

OMG, I'm totally in love with that cute little reindeer puffy sticker!!

I can't wait to see what you all think to the challenges this year.

Happy New Year 2018!

Happy New Year to you all!

I'm hoping that 2018 is going to be a fabulous crafty year for me. I've got lots of exciting things coming up and fingers crossed that there are more in the pipeline.

I'm continuing on with the GoGo Getaway Design Team and they are celebrating an amazing 10 years of Scrapbooking retreats this year. I'm super excited for the June retreat with the fabulous guest teacher Shimelle Laine.

The UK Scrap Addicts have some exciting new themes up on the blog. It's great to see how all the themes are interpreted with the different CT members styles. January is all about using a sketch.

April will see me being the Guest Designer for The Wild Hare Kits which I'm super excited about. I can't wait to see what kit the team collate for me.

I've already booked on a few classes at Art from the Heart to do a bit more art journalling and painting fun.

I'm meeting up in June with a group of lovely scrappy friends for a relaxed weekend of scrapbooking and fun.

Plus there are already some exciting travel plans booked and in the pipeline.

Here's to a fabulous 2018 full of exciting times and hopefully good health (fingers crossed!).

Happy Crafting!
